Narasimha is a 1999 Telugu action drama film starring Rajinikanth, Soundarya, Ramya Krishna and Sivaji Ganesan. The film was directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Sri Surya Movies. The music was composed by A.R. Rahman. The film was a blockbuster hit and was dubbed in Hindi as Sherni Ka Shikar and in Tamil as Padayappa.

The film revolves around Narasimha (Rajinikanth), an engineer who returns to his hometown to attend his sister's wedding. His sister is engaged to the son of his maternal uncle (Radha Ravi). However, his uncle demands a share in the family property and tries to humiliate Narasimha's father (Sivaji Ganesan). Narasimha's father refuses to give up his property and dies of a heart attack. Narasimha's sister's wedding is also cancelled as the groom chooses to marry his uncle's daughter instead. Narasimha vows to take revenge on his uncle and his family.
Meanwhile, Narasimha falls in love with Vasundhara (Soundarya), a village girl who helps him in his difficult times. However, he also has to deal with Nilambari (Ramya Krishna), the spoiled daughter of his uncle who is obsessed with him. Nilambari tries to seduce Narasimha and even attempts to kill Vasundhara. Narasimha rejects Nilambari and marries Vasundhara. Nilambari becomes furious and plots to kill Narasimha and his family.
